Call for Proposals Timeframe

There will be four calls for proposals inviting all 83 Districts as enumerated in the LLG Gazette # G1-15 January 2007, to apply for grant funding throughout the life of the Project. The calls will be made within a period of six months from when the previous call was made.

In the first call for proposal, there will six (6) grants awarded, then twelve (12) in the second call, twenty four (24) in the third call and finally twenty eight (28) in the last call. All in all there will be a total of seventy (70) grants awarded to successful Districts and their Local-level Governments throughout the country. Grants are to be implemented between six months and a maximum of one year duration.

1. Call for Proposals 1
Date of Call: March 25, 2009
Due Date: May 25, 2009
In the first call, nine (9) grants were awarded instead of six (6) as planned. Details of the awarded districts are covered in the Achievements section of this site.  

2. Call for Proposals 2
Date of Call: September 25, 2009
Due Date: November 25, 2009

There is an anticipated 12 to 15 grants to be awarded in the sencond call for proposals.

DPLGA Newsflash

DPLGA was well represented at the Provincial Administrators meeting in Lae, 23-26th February 2010, where the Prime Minister outlined the Papua New Guinea Vision 2050 to the provinces. SDLLGP Project Manager, Mr. Gevo Mabone attended along with the Local Government Advisory Services Division Director, Mr. Simon Kunai and Deputy Director, Mr. Joe Warus.
