Mr. Gevo Mabone | Project Manager/Imprest Administrator Mr. Mabone has been seconded from the DPLGA, full time to assume the role of Project Manager / Imprest Administrator for the project. Prior to his appointment he was the Assistant Director, Local Government Advisory Services Division within the DPLGA. He has also previously worked in Provincial Administrations under various senior positions. Mr. Mabone is a Teacher by profession, having obtained a Certificate in Teaching, Diploma in Curriculum Development and a degree in Education. He brings with him a wealth of public service experience. Mr Mabone is responsible for the achieving the overall objective of the project and maintains close co-ordination with all stakeholders. |
Mr. Akame Tunama | Accountant/Imprest Accounting Officer Mr. Tunama has an Accounting degree from the University of Technology. He has vast experience in public sector financial management and accounting. He is also currently seconded by the Department of Provincial and Local Level Government Affairs (DPLGA) to assume the function of Imprest Accounting Officer for the project. Prior to joining the DPLGA and thus the project, he was attached as a Senior Internal Auditor with Eastern Highlands Provincial Government (E.H.P). His involvement as the Senior Internal Auditor involved auditing District and LLG projects within the E.H.P. Mr Tunama is responsible for Accounting for all project expenditure. |
Mr. Jacob Ekinye | Help Desk Manager Mr. Ekinye graduated with a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Papua New Guinea. He also has a Post-graduate diploma in Public Policy from the National Research Institute. He has worked as a Desk Officer for AusAID funded Small Grants Scheme at the Aid Coordination Division of the Department of National Planning. Prior to his appointment, he worked with the National Economic and Fiscal Commission as a Senior Policy Advisor working mainly on the new financial arrangements between the National and Lower Levels of Government. He is responsible for the daily operations of the SDLLG project. |
Mrs. Christine Boude | Assistant Help Desk Manager Mrs. Boude graduated with a Bachelor of Business Management from the University of Papua New Guinea. Prior to her appointment, she worked with the Prime Ministers Department as a Research Officer and brings this analytical expertise to the Project Management Unit. She assists the Help Desk Manager. |
Ms. Sophia Uhe | Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Ms. Uhe graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Papua New Guinea. Prior to her appointment she worked in the oil and gas industry. She forms part of the project’s Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team of two. The M&E put in place systems for close Monitoring and Evaluation of all project activities and specific monitoring of the grants to be implemented under Component 1. |
Mr. Donald Hehona | Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Mr. Hehona has postgraduate training in Economics from Lincoln University in New Zealand. Prior to his appointment, he worked with the Fresh Produce Development Agency and World Vision International in the areas of economic analysis, project planning and management. In addition he worked as a consultant at the National Authorising Office (NAO) Support Unit. He works closely with Ms Uhe in the M&E team. |
Ms. Priscilla Mulake | Executive Assistant Ms. Mulake performs administrative duties relating to filling and secretarial support for the Project Management Team. Ms Mulake holds certificates in Stenography and basic secretarial studies and worked with DAL/JICA funded project as Executive Secretary and the Oil Palm Industry prior to joining the Project Management Unit. She is the smiling face at reception when you enter the division. |
Mr. Jeffery John Mika | Clerk/Driver Mr. Mika holds a Certificate in Accounting from the Institute of Business Studies. Prior to his appointment, he worked with various private companies and performed roles, including as Accounts and Administration Officer. He provides logistical support and other clerical duties for the Project Management Unit. |
Mr. Joao Monteiro Paes | Mr. Joao Monteiro Paes Long Term Technical Advisor Mr. Paes joined the Project Management Unit in July this year. He brings sixteen years of experience in international development, spanning twenty-four countries. His expertise is in the area of economic development, governance initiatives, rural development and social services. He holds diplomas in International Trade, Sales and Negotiations and Marketing. Mr. Paes will help to facilitate the success of this project across all components and result areas. |
Ms. Joanna Edghill | Short Term Technical Advisor Ms. Edghill is the Interim Advisor. She has been with the project since January 2009 and specialises in Grant Scheme Management. Ms. Edghill has been working in the Pacific region since 2005 and holds a Masters degree in International Relations from the University of Nottingham UK. She will support all project activities, in particular providing guidance on institutional strengthening of the Department of Provincial and Local Government Affairs as per the Departments Corporate Plan, and adherence to the procedures governing the use of European Development Fund. |
